Don't Tell Her

by Pia   Aug 12, 2011

She told me that he did it again
Same thing, same game, no different a man
It broke my heart to see her sore
But I don't tell her that it's happened before

It's the same play but the actors changed
Her part was mine, it was all the same
I don't tell her I was his star, too
'Til he left my world a deeper blue

I don't tell her I once held him close
The one I adored and longed for most
I can't tell her all the things we did
All the laughter and the lies he hid

I don't tell her how my heart, he broke
All the bitter tears my pillow soaked
But after all the anguish and the pain
I can tell her this- he'll never change

So I hold her hands as thoughts of him
Run through my mind, a little grim
Then I pray for her as I fear the worst
'Cause I know the pain- it was my first
