Snowflake Rain

by Maple Tree   Nov 23, 2012

You were a soft spring

that spoke to me,

while my ivory snow

cap dangled in the breeze.

The eternal sun brought us

days of spirited laughter,

mittens were soaked

in the days of youth

even though our forty

year old bodies danced,

we were as young as

a nightingales first

song.

We love in the nights

of warm shadows

and snowflake rain,

tamed, middle aged souls

wrapped in the warmth

of youthful hearts....

Youth is not in the outside, I mean in the skin but how one feels. A 20 year old may be feel not young despite being so. Yet a 80 year old can feel like a 15, is a matter of feeling that makes us young. And I'm so glad that that feeling of youth is felt within this piece.

    You were a soft spring

    that spoke to me,

    while my ivory snow

    cap dangled in the breeze.

    - this to me represents someone who has come along at the exact moment when we feel like giving up. someone who came along with their love and honesty and fromt hat moment you knew they would make everything ok and bright again.

    The eternal sun brought us

    days of spirited laughter,

    mittens were soaked

    in the days of youth

    even though our forty

    year old bodies danced,

    we were as young as

    a nightingales first

    song.

    - what a beautiful thought, the nightingales first song, such a unique sound and beautiful wording for your poem. This shows how even though you maybe met later in life, your hearts were once again that young age that fell in love and forever remained youthful together. You have both been through this journey and feel it has kept you young at heart.

    We love in the nights

    of warm shadows

    and snowflake rain,

    tamed, middle aged souls

    wrapped in the warmth

    of youthful hearts....

    - what I love most here is warm shadows, usually this is depressing or scary or dark but in this case you have even made the shadows beautiful and inserted it into such a loving poem.

I know this poem is from your heart and so I think it makes it more special knwoing that even through the hard times, you can read this poem and remind you of the good times and the love which is the most important thing. <3
