Myself in my eyes

by Kelwin lost in thought   Jan 25, 2013

You may think of me as strong and kind
but how i see myself you don't know
I don't see me as strong
I'm weak and looking for help
I've done things to myself
no one should ever do
I mark my body
I make my body my own scarlet letter
I cut and I don't like it
I always said I was proud of my scars
but I am not
I lie to myself
as I lie to you
I hate it
I started something
something that I can't stop
it's consuming my body and mind
I'm a monster in my own way
I'm a devil to myself
I'm my own worse enemy
what am I to do
give in to the urge
or be who I want to be
who am I any more
depression takes control
of my life and my body
am I still me
or am I a monster

Darling, this is how every person who cuts feels. Trust me, I feel the same way. The poem was eloquently written though, and it flowed well. I loved it, as always. 5/5
