Labyrinth

by Biancas Veil   Mar 5, 2013

We Live and love just to die
Try and succeed only to fail
Every time she tries she dies a little inside
As much control over herself as the ocean to the tide

She's on her toes with hands held to the sky
Tears down her face show she has tried
She collapses to the sodden earth
Her heart like burnt coal inside a forgotten hearth

She strives for something better
To get out of this town and live a happy life
She walks this labyrinth with no end in sight
Always looping back just to start over again she prays that everything will be alright.

She is starting to give in with her head on the ground tears soaking into the earth
She has tried her hardest for those she loves the most
The dead don't get to leave
Now she is starting to believe.

Nice poem, I like the trying your hardest yet still falling idea in it, it leaves a sense of irony; to put everything you have into something and still fail. Though in the end I'm not sure what happened but I like that.
