I know I've been hurt in the past
it just seemed like nothing good would ever last
whenever everything seemed like it was getting better
all the happiness i had gained seemed to shatter

but its different with you
you always helped me pull through
whenever i was feeling insecure
you told me i was more beautiful than before

its like you're strong enough for two lives
no matter how many fights
you kept me from breaking
even when your heart was aching
you're so tough
you're the angel that kept me from giving up
its different with you
so i wanna say thank you

    It's always sad when things seem to be going the same way as they were in previous relationships but bam they actually aren't, they are going well but because we have been treated badly we do find it hard to believe it's going well and you portray this well. The emotion and rhyme in the piece make it flow well.
