Not Yet

Not Yet

It's been a month since the Angels came
it hasn't gotten any easier yet
because tears still fall from my eyes
as I think about you every day

I see your smile in the eyes of my children
and your spark in my grandchildren

I hear you singing to your favorite classic country tunes
of Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette and Loretta Lynn

I see your face every time
I look in the mirror
I mean, I am your daughter after all

You are in all that I see
and all that I do
so how can I not think about you

You left behind a beautiful legacy
of a life well lived

So, as I stroll down memory lane today
tear drops stain my paper as I write

And I think...

No, it hasn't gotten any easier yet
and I'm not sure if it ever will

    Oh!

This is another one which is so heart-tugging, especially with it being one of the strongest bonds this world has.

You have worded something which many people feel at the time of loss, but struggle to express it through words.

I love the honesty in the poem, and how you add such personal little details that are alive in your memories and that connect you to your mother, it is a very touching piece to read because we can see how close you were to her, and how much you both meant to each other.

I think you have made a good point at the end, grief is so overwhelming that we sometimes fear it will never leave us. But it does get a bit easier in time, as long as we remember to keep the good memories alive.

You are beautiful, and you write beautiful poetry!

    Thanks for sharing this. <3
