Farther from Heaven than You

by Someone Invisible   Dec 20, 2015

But if your book really speaks the truth
I may just be farther from Heaven than you.
With my crooked ways and twisted thoughts
It's sure that Hell is going to be my last stop.

Maybe God's Son and his Fallen Angel will be kind
And let me speak with you from time to time.
Or maybe you'll be too busy flying with angels
To remember me down here drowning in flames.

But either way what I know is I'll remember you
Regardless of whether you remember me because
You're the whispers of the wind, the sound of rain
And I'm the ash on the end of a forgotten cigarette.

This poem mesmerized me from start to finish. I really and truly enjoyed the simplicity and elegance of this poem.

Someone Invisible created an heart gripping expressions of emotions comparing her love and herself as heaven and hell. Just a wonderful poem here.

the ending was a perfect closing to this piece. wonderful!!

I honestly don't know if I'm supposed to reply to this but really thank you. It makes me happy on a base level to know people actually read my work, especially someone as talented as you. ^_^
