ruins

by Courtney Hough   Apr 8, 2017

My life is in ruins,
my heart whole, no more.
What should I do?
When two hold it?
But I no longer want to be here?
The darkness is calling.
singing so sweet.
while the earth mocks me,
at my defeat.
One I've know so long,
the other for but a moment.
And here I am gasping,
for my atonement.
For what shall I do,
once the gasping stops?

I can sense the pull in either direction. Temptation, maybe? If this is personal to you, I can't say I relate, but I like the honesty in this and I hope you find true happiness!
