Larry this is lovely with a tinge of sadness (in my opinion) I love the rhyme scheme too.

A beautiful remembrance...of a person who has been thru hard times but has left a legacy of love. It touched me with a bit of sadness as the writer is surely proud of the person he remembers. A beautiful, heart-warming write.

Thanks, guys. It was years before I truly appreciated him.

Larry, a melancholy write about your dad. As we grow up we never really understand our dad's and all they do and why. I felt your heartfelt write gave your dad a voice of the man he was. Well done-

Beautiful piece. It seems that often we don't appreciate our fathers and their life struggles and how much they mould our lives until our own later lives
