The Dysfunctional

by Hidden Eyes   Nov 20, 2018

The animalistic choking
As I laid and suffocated
Is burned into my memory
As if I was branded with incessant grief

The chaos of affection is humiliating
I only feel worthy when I am forsaken
Understanding abandonment is unreasonable
Grasping for control is walking blind

Healthy becomes boring
Bursting emotions accompany a symphony of regret
Cast away I am left wondering
How could he forget?

these two statements are powerful. Healthy affection is a norm, but what if that type of affection was absent? Perhaps, the negative forsaken chaos is what we strive for, a strand of recognition that makes us feel worthy.

I liked this poem, powerful and emotionally poignant.

    Take care.
