Give me a reason

by aldo Kraas   Jan 7, 2026

Give me a reason, why I should not love my father,
Through the storms, the fights, when the days got harder.
He taught me strength, the fire in my veins,
Give me one reason to forget his name.
I can’t find a reason, I’ve searched the sky,
To stop my prayers from reaching high,
I close my eyes, and I believe,
Love’s the bond I won’t ever leave.
Give me a reason, why I should not sleep at night,
When the quiet calls, and the stars burn bright.
Rest these bones, I need to heal,
Life’s too short to miss what’s real.
I can’t find a reason, I’ve searched the sea,
To let my health slip far from me.
Each breath I take, I choose to fight,
For my own tomorrow, for my light.
Tell me why I should throw my mornings away,
When the sun’s my anthem, the start of my day.
I rise with the fire, the rhythm, the call,
To stand strong, to answer it all.
I can’t find a reason, I’ve searched the ground,
To let my purpose be run down.
This is my song, this is my time,
With love in my heart, I’ll keep the climb.
Give me a reason, ‘cause I’ll hold it strong,
Through the nights so short, and the roads so long.
I’ve found none yet, in the sky or the sea,
And I’ll keep loving, for it sets me free.
