Child's Lullabye (I do...)

by tati   Oct 8, 2004

I'm sorry...
I've messed up for the last time,
The very last time.
Just hush my darling,
There’s no need to feel guilty...
Oh my baby... I never wanted to hurt you
I'm not worthy of you forgiveness,
For your love I have forgotten.

The constant curiosity, of what you see in me that no one else sees...
What do you see in my tainted reflection?
How do you see perfect out of my imperfections...
Your sweet forgiveness, consoles me for the last time.
I won’t pull you down with me again....
No not again.

Your love is what I live for...
And I’d be honored to die for.
So why do I hurt you so?
Your vision of beauty is I...
But why?
Why my darling?
Don’t you understand that such feeble creations as I do not disserve your hand?

Oh how your love keeps me living...
Why don’t you believe these words I speak?
Your heart is made of the most pure and worthy...
So how can you feel so helpless?
How do you feel as I do....?
Because I do...
I do.

Your love is that a silent note only I can decipher..?
Why can’t you hear it like I do?
I do.
My love listen closely, for these words are forbidden from innocence...
Can’t you hear that melody?
The one that I live for...
Where every letter is treasured and cherished for eternity.
Can’t you hear it? The forbidden harmony...
Like a child’s lullaby, I follow it blindly.
Into my dreams where I see...

This is my reality,
This is where I long to be.
In this forsaken melody.
Here the wind whispers to me the silent notes.
For if you listen close enough I hear your voice...
No one else hears it.
Can’t you hear it praying...?
As if it’s down on it’s knees begging?
This dream in which I reside.
I hear your sacred voice whisper...
"I love you..."
