Lost..

Desperate, running, terrified,
I fall into your lap
And see you gaze up at me.
I scream
As your dirty eyes bore into my flesh,
And I see the evil that dragged me down to hell with it.
Turning and fleeing into the darkness,
Into the open arms of a stranger
who whispers promises into my trusting ears,
awaiting command like the dog I've become.
I sob into my hands which stink of you and your filth
and can't escape the bonds which tie me down.
I am trapped as I was before
in the clutches of depression and despair,
my dreams of a happy future snatched away as they have been so many times before.
I sit at the gates of heaven awaiting my turn to enter
But someone drags me, kicking and screaming, further away
from peace.
