Spring Seen Through My Window

by Twisted Heart   Mar 29, 2006

There's a little daffodil
Sitting on my windowsill
In a box of blue and green.
The stems and leaves are atop
The roots that's planted in the box
No greater vision have I seen.
The sun casts such a lovely spell
Upon the earth she knows so well
Enchanting all within her sight.
And that little daffodil
Perched upon my windowsill
Rises up in sheer delight.
She raises such a lovely head
With yellow locks and blushing red
Her eyes wide open to the dew.
To greet the day, she faces
All the earth in Nature's graces
Spring's popped in to say hello to you.

Good write. I think in line 5 you meant to say: The root that's planted in the box. Otherwise you'd need to say that are planted... but that wouldnt flow---The rhyme scheme is a little hard to get used to but after i read it through a few times it flowed well. You have to read it a certain way... I would suggest separating it into stanzas accordingly so the reader will read it right. Overall however, I was a good poem and puts a small smile on your face as you put together the clear imagery.
