The Woman and the Lottery

by Hilary   Apr 13, 2006

One day a woman walked up to a stand,
She had a lottery ticket in hand.

She had a dream that one day she'd win.
But it's just as much likely as growing a fin.

She went to her home and with a slight smile,
She sat there and waited and waited a while.

The girl really wanted to acquire her dream.
And so when it happened, she let out a scream.

The people had called her and told her she'd won,
And she now could buy anything under the sun.

She was so excited she went out and bought,
Anything that she did offer a thought.

She bought so much stuff that she thought she would faint,
She really did need a good shopping restraint.

She bought up one store and she bought up another,
Maybe she needs some advice from her mother.

But a robber did come, and a robber did steal,
And all that was left was enough for one meal.

So the lottery winner went back to her house,
And from then on she was a quiet little mouse.
