Piece of Heaven

The inkling of the sunshine is captured in your smile
As the magic of our love, dances in your eyes
The hint of sweet surrender, stays with me for awhile
Among the memories we made, that fate can not deny.

Our hearts are beating to the tune of what we, two, now share
Upon the thoughts that keep us, as we go along
Inside our souls we find the piece of comfort that is there
Holding to the constant love that's grown in years, so strong.

Denial of the trouble that had found a place to rest
Among the scattered years, but we always pulled it through
Our love was questioned, at times, put to a heartfelt test
But it stood strong and stayed afloat and rose up all anew.

Misguided trusts and battle scars, we wear them with a pride
Upon our hearts and in our souls, they find a place of worth
For comfort in our love we know, we feel it deep inside
A little piece of Heaven, brought to us, here on Earth.
