One Last Time

by Cathy   Nov 27, 2006

They lay ed their lying on a cold winter night
Reminiscing on the love that use to shed light

He looks at her while she lays on his chest
He thinks to himself that she is the best

How could he have thrown away this love
This is the woman sent from above

He runs his fingers right through her hair
Thinking to himself that life isn't fair

She doesn't deserve to be mistreated and abused
He has hurt her so much that she often feels used

She looks up at him with a tear in her eye
She fought so hard to keep the emotions inside

He sees the tear falling like a teardrop
He knows that her love for him never stopped

In him she use to confide
now she holds all her feelings inside

The mascara running down her face is proof that she is sad
He finally realizes how hes treated her so bad

A beautiful girl with a face like an angel
Doesn't deserve to live in a life so cold

It is then that he opens his eyes
and wipes the tears so she wouldn't cry

She looks down she cannot smile cause she cannot erase this pain she held in for a while

This was his last chance to make things right
But he stayed silent the rest of the night

She waited for the words I still love you dear
But all he gave her was another tear

He knew what he'd done but he could not swallow his pride
Now she gets up to leave but first says goodbye
