Through the Sand Storm

All I can see is the swirling sand
Killing all my senses
Blinding me
Deafening me
Unable to smell
Unable to feel
All I can taste is the hot dead sand
No more
I lay down
My eyes free of tears
The sand swirling around me
I realize,
No one is coming to save me
You're not there
Gone, leaving my emotions
Scattered in the storm
No more
I lay down
Put my head on my hands
And I can take no more
No more disappointment
No more hurt
No more games
My heart can take no more
The sand is blinding,
And it fills the long forgotten corners
Of my mind
Numbing the pain
Numbing the injustice
Numbing you
I can't take it anymore
All I can see is the sand
And in the sand
Your face, swirling by
Not really there
But I can see it
It is the only thing that keeps me moving
Keeps me from laying down
And giving up
But every time I go to touch it
It's gone
I am finally through chasing dreams
And things that will never happen
So here I lay
In the sand
And I give up
Because I am through chasing you
