Aftermath

Pain is just an aftermath of an event,
Physical and emotional strains,
But like every cut that heals,
A aftermath fades,
Stinging of a metal blade,
Draged roughly across paling flesh,
And those crying tears erupt from your skin
Leaving a painful aftermath of mutilation,
It's the only gift you're heart can deliver,
After the mass of emotional pain,
Delivered by another,
Why when hurting,
Do we cause more pain to ourselves?
Shouldn't we give our hearts a break?
Our skin? But we do, literally.
So lets give it some space,
To be itself,
To push away that aftermath,
Pain is an aftermath of an event,
But caused by mainly you.
