Night Of Lies

A darkness drifts inside my soul
Into my heart it breathes then dies
As shadows on the wall of time
With my mind collide.

No distant pain is now recalled
With fervor beats the hands of fate
The taunts of wounds begin to fall
Upon the soul that waits.

Mere words that send a shiver
Against the well of broken dreams
Inside the heart a stab delivered
As it rips the seams.

A breeze of discontentment
To the mind a word is spoken
And though it has the sound of truth
Your faith has now been broken.

Against the night, you pit your tears
And watch them crumble in debris
Lost among the love you had
Now token words of fantasy.
