The Old Man and the Street

by Untamed   Jun 5, 2007

I was walking down the street
When i came across a man
Rather looking poor and dirty
He sat there with a pan

The pan was shiny and almost empty
Maybe a dime or two
A tear rolled down my eye
When i noticed the man lacked a pair of shoes

I came closer to his figure
I reached in my pocket for some money
I approached him as he slowly looked up
His eyes shined bright like honey

His hair was gray yet the richest color
His white beard was messy yet neat
His hands were old yet powerful
Shoes couldnt compare to the strength of his feet

Something stopped me and i stared with amaze
A light shined upon His face
His smile seemed to brighten the day
Suddenly, I felt an embrace

I was scared for a while when i got this feeling
I threw the money and started to walk fast
I felt guilty after wards
But he was gone when i looked back

Surprised, curious yet horrified
I walked to wards the spot and quietly gasped
The pan lied there with nothing but words
"Congratulations, you finally passed"
