Before You Leave

by Flying Phoenix   Sep 7, 2007

She caught the breath before it left
Those harsh sweet words without a sigh
Trying to hard to let things by
Whilst the world moved on, leaving her behind
She lay down softly to cry

Where the friends did pass as time did go
When whistles carried her heart
She tore a glance to the ones she'd known
Time moved on, she had grown
And all around; she was alone

When did they go and why did they leave?
Where was time when she wished to breathe?
How do things change in a seconds span,
When her freedom slowly drifted away

She cried to herself for letting them pass
Cried to the whispers; at summer's laughs
Screamed to the fate of her sorrow
Sobbed to the days of tomorrow
Sighed a long forgotten breath
When she remembered her friends had left

So before you say I'm beyond repair
I'm trying hard, though I'm not often there
Please grant me a goodbye, a contact address
So I can survive my loneliness
