Apprehension

by Josh Jaeger   Dec 28, 2007

I gaze upon the stars for solace

The web of light gently calms me

I cannot explain my apprehension

A simple shadow I fail to see

We're always told, "Be mindful of the future."

Yet what do I feel deep inside?

That shies me away from the other side?

Immortalized photographs

Our lives split in half

We didn't see it coming

Now I feel wiped off the map

Maybe pictures riddle the future,

All one needs to do is solve it.

Face the promise of wonderful torture,

For a prize you might never accomplish

Mysteries, wonderful, wrapped in failure

Will pounce at every doorstep.

But wrap yourself with friendly faces,

For it only stops for friendship
