Trippen' the Blue 1-27-03

by Phil Laws   Jan 19, 2008

When I was done
Trippen' the blue
White came fallen' down again
Left me thinken' of you
And past winters
Waiten' for sun
Well I was feelen' way back then
That the freezen' had won
But through all of my life
I knew there'd be
A love in the future who
Would justify my ways
So I could see
Life was worth all I'd gone through
Even the blinding haze
Of agony
That I let obscure my view
Maybe they were always
Right there for me
As I am right now for you
Oh, my friend, you see
This pain could be the end of me
Was it all for them or all for me
Oh, my friend, they say
Why are you still feelen' this way
Was it all over them or all over you
Trippen' the blue
'N' your always off balance
When it's all you can do
To just stumble the distance
My sister of
The sky tell me
If you've faith to try then why
Would you stay miserly
I've seen you fly
And I know you're
Not so high to just get by
When you deny the more
But through all of your life
You knew there'd be
A love in the future who
Would justify your ways
So you could see
Life was worth all you've gone through
Even the blinding haze
Of agony
You're letting obscure your view
Maybe they were always
Right there like me
Not half so blind to you
Oh, my friend, you say
This pain could stay my life away
Was it all over them or all over me
Oh, my friend, you see
This pain could end so easily
Was it a love for them or a love for two
Trippen' the blue
'N' your always off balance
When it's all you can do
To just stumble the distance
