And no-one's crying

Abandon me, my love,
and join the club.

Everyone I touch I infect,
and I wither them away
until there's nothing of our bond left

and the funny thing is
that I'm too used to it
to even care anymore.

They abandon me, like all others,
even though they said they never would.

They couldn't withstand my crushing presence,
nor the implications of my heavy heart.
People are liars, and they always leave.

and the funny thing is
that I'm too used to it
to even care anymore

Abandon me, like all the others,
I was about to say, but...

But you're not like the others.
I'm suffocating silently in the dark
at the mere thought of losing you,

and the funny thing is
that I'm so used to being abandoned
that I struggle to understand why.

I struggle to understand why
the thought of you being like the rest
feels like a death sentence.

I struggle to understand why
your absence aches in my chest, echoing,
like the trumpets in an empty court

The funny thing is
that I'm so used to being abandoned
that the thought of losing you is...

That thought makes my skin crawl,
and continues on until I'm imagining
watching my own funeral,

and no-one's crying.

No-one's crying,
because there'd be
nobody left.

    Amazing.Excellent.Fantastic.Superb.Superb. Fabulous.Wonderful.
My mind cannot think of anymore describing words to describe this awesomely written poem.
From the very first line.... "Abandon me, my love, and join the club." I couldn't take my eyes off it.I wanted to know what would you say next.
Generally all the sad poems I have read start with an extremely sad line but here I felt as if you were challenging this person to leave you too.Your sad poem did not start off with that tear filled tones.....but instead told that you didn't care about these people anymore so even this other person can leave you just like others and that will not affect you.I loved loved loveeddddd this wonderful start of yours.

I also loved how you took this no caring attitude of your poem to a very sad touchy one.

    The only word I can right now think of to describe this wonderful poem is ;
    Wwwwoooooowwwwwwwwww.

It seems there is always that ONE person who changes our whole perspective on things.. on life. The one person who makes us feel like we actually do have something to lose. And you wonder what the hell it is about that person that makes us so weak, so desperate for them to stay.

I think, like me, some people will be able to relate to the realness of this poem.

Damn ...this is a chilling, stunning and intense poem.it's kind of sad that things like this actually happen, people lie and make empty promises etc bit they never keep them and at first you don't care, it doesn't hurt, but then you meet one person, and your whole life changes...a beautiful poem Jean ;-)
