My acquaintance

by Mike   Jan 12, 2015

Why am I so acquainted with depression.. It feels like I'm walking upstream in a river that could pull me under so easily. There's other people there, with me, but they're walking in the banks. Telling me to "just get out of the water" but instead of reaching out a helping hand, they leave me behind and move on. Every once In awhile I find a rock I can rest on. But the rocks always get tired of holding me up and when they let go I'm left drowning, thrown 50 ft back again. And nothing is harder than standing up in that current, when everything is telling you how much easier it would be if you just let yourself get dragged under..

THAT is REAL encouraging. *Eyeroll* >.> I think the metaphor was really clever idea, depression is definitely an uphill battle that you shouldn't have to go at alone. :/
Some people don't understand that it takes time along with outside resources of help to defeat, it's not realistic for them to just expect you to 'get over it'.
Anyways Good read, and I do hope you find inspiration and the strength to getting better
