Everything

by Beautiful Chaos   Apr 9, 2015

You thought you could save me,
But I didn't need saving,
Just love, honesty and understanding,
That would have saved us both,
Now you are my deepest wound,
One I can't seem to heal,
One I rip open, every time you're gone,
Because it feels empty without you,
I live in denial, every part of me wants you,
And I can't let anyone in,
Touch that part of me again,
Take that part of me,
Rip out that much of me,
You should have saved me from you,
The one thing you control,
Your truth, character, your ego,
You should have saved yourself,
From your own self destructive nature,
Your need to hide and push and criticize,
Anything that could love you,
The fear nothing will be good enough,
Because you're not good enough,
It's not about being good enough,
I love because you are good,
Good, bad, funny, complex, sad, selfish, ever questioning, creature of intrigue,
You love the person, their subtle nuances,
Their not so subtle flaws,
Some part of them that encourages you to be better,
To be happy,
To want to give it back freely,
Because loving them makes you feel,
Makes the trials seem just a little more bearable,
That's what you were to me,
I accept it all, good and bad,
Because I know the struggle,
And I wanted to struggle with you,
Grow with you,
Love you,
Like everyone should love,
With everything.

A lovely description of the poison that love can be; the drug that loving can be, without ever giving up. Well written x
