Blackness Is Back

by Baby Rainbow   Jan 30, 2016

You don't need to get defensive about it,
I'm just letting you know
that I am done with all the pressure
of trying to salvage something
that wasn't meant to last.

I'm finding the other side of goodbye,
where silence and sound
won't break my heart
with every lonely echo.

You might just get away with it,
stealing my love,
breaking my heart,
then leaving me without goodbye.

Just as long as you know
that in the dying of my hope,
all my walls are caving in,
and the blackness you once helped brighten,
well,
unlike you,
it's come back again.
