*Sigh* I made an error in my own article about errors. I feel horrible.
"Controversial" Dang, how did I miss that?

Mostly, your article was good. It annoys me when people don't use correct grammar, and they put full stops everywhere, when it's not at all necessary - periods, you call them (which amuses me, as to us English folks, a period is the time of the month when a girl is bleeding!) - or theyuse a comma at the end of EVERY line. It's not always needed!
However, I'd just like to point out that in the following paragraph you have used incorrect grammar yourself:
"The parenthesis are important in the English language. In poetry, many poets are afraid that parenthesis will confuse the reader. First of all, don't worry about the reader... worry about your own satisfaction... Second of all, most reader's understand that what's in parenthesis is either being embellished or minimized. It is just common knowledge. Here is an example of parenthetical use in a poem:"
Here, "reader's" should be "readers'", with the apostrophe after the s. Just thought I'd point it out in case you hadn't noticed, because an article about grammar doesn't have as much effect if there's grammatical errors in it ;)
Other than that, thank you for highlighting the issue!

I am extremely embarassed. If a moderator could do me an honour to delete my article... It's just... I need to make some more corrections that I never noticed needed fixing. I am in the middle of Finals, so forgive me... my brain is cramped and hurting and AHHH if you need me message me.

You still made your point about the awful grammar that is used in poems though.
Don't worry about it, and good luck with your finals!

I found this kind of funny.
I laughed at your little mistakes.
I know, that was mean.
Lol..
But still, for some reason I did.
But all in all.
This was a wonderful explanation.
I never actually thought
That commas
Were like holding hands.
Or blah.
Lol.
I'm loving this, m'dear.
I will make sure, from now on
That I will use punctuation.
Thank you :]

I use very little punctuation. Punctuation can kill or make a poem what about" " being used like when a character in poem says something do u use them leave them out or what just wondering what u thought. It would be cool if u read a few of my poems and help me out in this area. If u got the time. Thanks.

First of all, I'd like to thank you for this benificial topic.. I also get irritated when I see grammatical or spelling mistakes, although my grammer needs a huge improvement (because I'm not a native English speaker).. But I'm trying my best to improve it..
And if you allow me, I want to ask you several questions..
1. I love using this (..) after every sentense.. It's neither a fullstop nor an ellipse.. Is it OK to use it??
2. In your title, you wrote "Why is grammer,...". Aren't you supposed to write "Why are..."?? Because you are referring to several things.. I'm not sure I'm right, but this is what I feel..
That's it for today.. I'll ask the remaining questions later..
Thank you :)

I just got done reading your article and I thought it was very helpful. You cover the basics with definitions and examples of how to use the punctuation. Well done Stephen keep up the good work. I'm going to read your next article now so I'll end this comment now.

Your article, again, was good. The boring bit however hard you tried to avoid it, unfortunately came in its length. If you keep your points nice and concise I'm sure your article could benifit not only those with an incredibly long attention span. Correct grammar, punctuation, and use of capitals are incredibly important not just in poetry, but in every day literature. I personally think 'txting' and the acceptance of internet slang holds a lot of the blame. People need to listen to their english teachers. You won't get much further than McDonalds if you can't speak or write properly :)! And this site has spell check for a reason, we should all be very thankful. Though...on that note...words like 'there' and 'their', 'here' and 'hear', 'witch' and 'which', 'forth' and 'fourth' get mixed up a lot, and still pass under the spell check radar. Please make sure you use the correct words! Oops! Way off topic. Nice article Stephen.
