Dry Your Eyes

by Jodie Phillips   Mar 3, 2008

Looking down from up above
Engulfed by sadness stands my mourning dove.
Four months has passed, i see your pain is still strong
I'm here to tell you, you have cried for to long.

For me, please do not shed another tear
If you do i will hear
Disturbing me in my peace
Waking me, as i lay down to sleep.

I no they are tears of pain
Sad you won't see me again
But please don't think I'm no longer around
I am, i just don't make a sound.

I watch over you at night stay with you whilst you sleep
See you fall in to your dreams, you get lost so deep.
And when you awake i am sitting right there
You can't feel my hand, but I'm stroking your hair.

Throughout the day i come and go
Whilst visiting others i love and know.
And when you walk through the door at night
I'm standing right there, in your path of sight.

I reach out to you and welcome you home
Embraced in my arms, i don't want to let go.
And when your hungry and you sit down to eat
Tears fall as you gaze at a picture of me.

The flickering lights, or sounds you might hear
Is my way of letting you know I'm still near.
If things disappear, or unusual activities occur
Please don't be phased, its just my essence causing a stir.

I'm here everyday, now you know, your pain must end
I can not to rest in peace until your pain starts to mend.
So please try to raise a smile and wipe away your tears
Wherever you are in life you know i will always be near.

This poem is not only one of the one's I've given a 5/5 rating too, but I've added it to my favorites as well. Losing my best friend to a motorcycle accident, really causes this poem to hit home hard for me and I actually cried reading it. You have an amazing gift, and I really hope that you continue to use it. Feel free to check out my less wonderful poetry, but I would love some input from the great writers. Keep writing and good luck with everything in your life.

    Take care,
    Crystal
