Break The Dam

by silvershoes   Apr 11, 2008

Courage in your eyes, though a longing runs deep
I sense the hurt in you, as you writhe in you sleep
Coarse in your veins, the current carries me closer
Restless waves against the rock, a shapeless composer

Such pressure could break the dam set between us
Grasp my hand firmly; make an indissoluble truss
When the rapids burst, and the water weight delves
Only then, my love, can we truly find ourselves

Heads above water, fighting fierce for our breath
So what if we land apart, even fall to our death?
One chance outweighs the most violent torrents
For whatever outcome, it's what reason warrants
