Heart Lye's

by Jason   Apr 19, 2008

What would you cling to if all you knew was gone?
Family and friends no longer there to bond
Your security is breached and causes you to reach
Somewhere deep that one place to keep
Emotional toil, hunger and strain
Daily living with starving pain
Not even a place to lay your head
The open space full of dead
Allows you to see how lucky you are
By people who smile and share your scars
To float as a bird on a warm summers breeze
The freedom to do just as you please
Ability to imagine is never taken away
Only placed within a man made cage
Causing each disdained soul to rage
A thought as crippling as the plague
Consider the time when we would run all day
Dwelling under the summer's shade
Puddles of mud where we splash and play
Learning to ride, a bike on two wheels
Loosing the innocence of childish fears
Saying goodbye to loved one's held close
The first day of school in a town you don't know
Dreaming to do whatever you decide
Accomplishing it is the wild ride
The journey that takes us to the moon and stars
The realistic return traps our mind in bars.
