When You're Gone

by Alexis   Jun 19, 2008

The days seem to drag on forever,
and the nights never end.
Either I am stuck in the twilight zone,
or my heart is broken
and needs to mend.

Everything seems off; Different somehow.
The sun doesn't rise quite right,
and the moon looks much duller now.

when you're gone,
it all loses its meaning.
It might as well not exist.
Everything starts retreating,
how can they resist?

When you're gone,
food loses its taste,
and words are just words.
The world becomes hazy,
and nothing is in place.

When you're gone,
I am a mess.
A wreck. A shamble.
Come back and catch me.
And we can finally rest.

This is a beautifully expressed poem.
I feel that I can totally relate to your words here,
I feel the same way now that someone
I care about in that way is gone.

So, nicely done, I love your poem.
