This time, the good will not die young!

by silvershoes   Jul 26, 2008

Wipe your bitter tears; see the beauty
If these were your last days, the world would fade
but it will gleam brilliant and stars, their luster
To stay hope in your heart, light in your eyes
will blaze with unfettered glory
(for the night is darkest before the dawn)

Life might play a filthy ruse on all of us
but do not hide from its dirt
With laughter and love, we overcome
When dealt a grim hand, it's not done
You, for I will not allow it,
will not succumb

This time, the good will not die young!

I am only me because of you
My dearest friend, 'til death do us part
so you must stay!
This hardship must not steal
your sweet breath away

Then of your anguish!
I daren't envisage, though I do know
If you left, your pain would leave
and I would be left with it
To carry,
To nurse,
To mourn,
(until we met again)

Do you want me to rush,
to follow?
I would rather be led,
to live.
