That night

by Radim Spicar   Nov 9, 2008

That night you told me face to face,
while giving me a warm embrace,
that I shall never be your lover
and left my heart there to recover.

That night I felt my world collapse,
the time stood still, wouldn't elapse.
Tears just running down my cheek,
I felt so small, I felt so weak.

I cried and cried to no avail,
my eyes turned red, my skin got pale.
I tried but couldn't stop the shaking
nor my heart from endless aching.

Entombed in darkness all alone,
I thus was forced to now atone
that I shall never hold your hand,
never shall by your side stand.
