The huitain is a very beautiful format and this one, about angels, is so very sweet!
I will for sure look up that song on Youtube.

Thanks for sharing both the poem and the song!

I really do like this poem. I think a few lines seem a bit off, emotional wise. But I guess in order to keep the syllable count there's not many ways to change it. The poem overall doesn't lack emotion, just a few lines through-out it. If that makes sense.

    Those lines are:
"Of Mary who gladly gave birth,"
    - With this line I'd have to say 'gladly' wouldn't do justice for how she gave birth. "of" kinda threw me off in the beginning, mostly because it was said in the line beforehand. So, maybe if you found a more enthustastic (sp) 3 syllable word to replaced 'gladly' and removed 'of' the line would sound better? If you can't figure it out try looking at it this way:

[Telling of Christ the newborn King,
    Mary who ______ gave birth.]

"Warming those who dread this season,"
    - This line is a bit awkward to me. I suggest ONE change to fix it a bit changing 'this' to 'the'.

"Praising along by bells they ring,
Spreading joy with a good reason."
    - Love these lines.

To be honest I love the entire poem. Just a few changes and it'll be flawless :) (:
