Our conversation

by DK   Jan 17, 2009

Seventeen was the age that we first met
Facing the challenges that we both had
Work was hard and life was too
But you and I we've seen it through

Eighteen then and I was your friend
Afraid of what we had ahead
Refusing to start and fear the end
You came to chat with me instead

The days grow dark and challenges begin
And you'll have to face your fears within
When you are done with your campaign
You'll come and chat with me again

The past has past and the future reigns
Forget the twenty years of pain
Let us hope for what the future brings
That it will also make you sing

In the past four years we had so much fun
Now smile and say you're twenty-one
And all the songs that we have sung
That our chat has but just begun
