Lurking In The Shadows

by Krista   Mar 16, 2009

Street lights illuminate the ebbing darkness,
guiding my lonely way through empty alleys.
Lurking among the cold and desperate lives,
shadows hoping to escape from the light.

I just want to be near you.

Daylight breaks upon the rocky horizon,
my palm held open to grasp your hand.
You won't ever hold my wanting hand,
I keep lurking among the quiet shadows.

Three little words could satisfy me.

    Wow...
I have no idea why people have commented this. Crazy if you ask me. I loved this poem. There was something about it that was just amazing. I don't know if it was your ateention to detail when it came to imagey or the simple way your words flowed into each other. I read this with such ease and that is wonderful. This poem really shows your talent as a writer and that's what makes this so great. Your emotions was expressed in a controlled way making this an excellent poem. *huggles* Keep amazing me hun. Nik
