Love's Undying Light

by Krista   Feb 4, 2010

Ivory daisy petals fall to the ground;
he loves me, he loves me not -
repeated rhymes of the romantic youth.
Blue eyes watch as the light petals drift,
whispering lightly of a truth untold
the serene mysteries of a love unknown.

Church bells ring, bright and merry,
pronouncing the union of two souls
strung together through fused hearts.
Two smiles, shining the brightest,
exclaim the hallowed, revered words,
"'till death do us part."

Porcelain blue eyes twinkle in the sun,
white hair surrounding the once youthful face.
Vows fifty years ago still hold strong,
strengthening over the bygone years.
Hand in hand, the pair walks along,
brightening true love's undying light.

--Poem I had to write for an aassessment in English. :)
