The Siren's Song

by Tripp   Aug 16, 2010

The siren's eerily entrancing alto encapsulates my mind...
Her insanity discordantly rings across the obsidian mirror
Her reverberating hollowness permeates my chest - her lonely chime!
The siren desperately hopes her obsession - my heart - will hear her

Crying out for the attention denied her all her life
Crying out for the love denied her all her life
Crying out for her savior to provide solace and salvation
Crying out for her rescuer to return to his station

Her pathetic pleas scrape against the gilded edges of onyx perfection
Continuously they fail to leave even mild impressions, dropped leaves
Continuously she cries out for what she needs - some affection!
Her pathetic pleas scraping against the shore - of pure gold - and no one sees.
