It's not me It's You

by Lauren   Mar 15, 2011

All I ever wanted
was a daddy who was there,
A daddy who would love me,
And a daddy who would care.

I can't fill the emptiness
From all the years we lack
It's ok daddy I know I'm not your kid,
Unlike your bottle of jack.

I'm getting sick and tired,
Don't try to make me small,
It's not me it's you, Dad.
You can stop trying to make me fall.

Such a shame, fathers not being there for their children. There are tons of poems on this site about this same exact problem, Ive written a few myself. :(

It's ok daddy I know I'm not your kid,
Your kid is the bottle of jack.

^ Id just say watch your syllable count here, it kind of threw off the flow a bit. and the repition of your kid should be changed.

Other than that good work :) You remind me of myself when I used to write rhyming poetry
