So, I've already voted three times this week, which is shocking because it's only Thursday, otherwise this sucker would be nominated. Is that arrogant, to nominate a poem written about yourself? Lol

It's as though you've been with me on a cold evening, when you have written poems about me it's always been me cooking, especially something like a soup or stew brewing in my kitchen, and it's a comfort I often indulge in.

My favorite kind of roast has all the fixings you mentioned (minus celery) and I have a big open window in my kitchen on the opposite wall my stove. Many days I've leaned against the counter gazing out at the sunset (it obviously faces west), and I love sunflowers for their simplistic beauty.

The ending about my spine really cracked me up, it took a few different meanings to me. I love how you've painted a picture. It's like you're here with me as I cook. It's funny you use kitchens as my main theme, that's where I feel the most comfortable. I love to write and craft things, but there is something ridiculously rewarding about cooking something, especially comfort food for others, that just makes me feel a little bit more whole than other days. Beautifully written, and I thank you :)

Really, really nice imagery....is this really Britt? I do not know her that well, but would want to sit in her kitchen after reading this:)

    Well done!

This is a pretty cute piece. Friends should inspire us, and it's refreshing to read a poem as naked and honest as this, it proves you're not limited to a specific subject matter. I'm sure Britt will forever cherish what you've here written

A noteless poem, it made me image each line of the poem :), and i'm with Chelsey when you said 'As quite as a radish'

Adorable and gentile and sweet like syrup.

I loved this the first time I laid eyes on it, and I love it still.

    Definitely a favorite.
