A Prisoner of Love

Sitting in dark, it feels like a heart attack
As my eyes open I see the empty bottles of jack
I can put my life back together, forget this pain
But the broken pieces, just wont fit the same

The feelings I have will slowly start to decline
This tattoo I have is going to fade over time
There are pictures behind me of you on the wall
There a reminder for now but one day will fall

I'll never be able to smile until i conquer my fears
Its feels like hours even if it has been years
I'm a prisoner of my own love ,I need to be set free
I need to find my real soul mate ,the girl with the right key

    I absolutely loved it, the rhyming; perfect.
    Words; magical!

    The only thing, the line:
    "I'm smiling now but I'm always close to tears."

    It reminds me a little too much of a song by The Script: "We're smiling yet were close to tears."

    I SO LOVED THIS PIECE..

    1st - the rhyming scheme was brilliant.
    2nd - the wording was simple yet so captivating.
    3rd - it flowed great.
    4th - this style reminds me of "THE SCRIPT" songs.
    5th - you'd know by now I ADORE "The SCRIPT"

    Consequently, I adore this poem.

    You describe love in a very dark manner, I especially enjoyed the first two lines, and the part of the tattoo. It just shows how much this love has affected you.

    It's quite a nice rhyming poem, but I think it would read better with a few commas in the last stanza:
    "I'm smiling now but I'm always close to tears
