Evolving Environment

by Michael D Nalley   Aug 9, 2011

The tide turns, we must accept adverse actions
That interfere with nuclear reactions.
Nature is not revolting when the world shakes.
Do we control eruptions and earthquakes?

Science sees signs, but may avoid the warning
Of environmental trends like global warming.
This planet has had to deal with emissions,
Having nothing to do with our decisions.

Fossils of organic matter, fuel distinctions
We adapt to environment or face extinctions.
Can there be a doubt that climate is in our view
Changing for better or worse as each day is new?

It's true, environment keeps evolving and it only makes sense that human will keep evolving , too, resulting to some unavoidable environmental impacts. The message behind this piece was sent successfully while the ambiguity of the poem's ending, however, made it more complex. The simple words and perfect rhyme scheme within this piece has enabled to achieve its easy flow, which added to the tranquility of this piece.
