The Curse

Two hearts merging together
Like a candle that will last forever
The light that will never go dim
The true love formed from deep within

It seems so perfect but can never last
Like colours in the rain its fading fast
It's what the heart wants but will never be
I'm trapped by the darkness I will never be free

The last time I saw you I remember so clear
I said "goodbye"with a face full of tears
The pain cuts through me, deep like a knife
I had to suffer to save you, from this lonely life

The love that blinded me from reality
The horrific life cursed by immortality
She's dead now; I can never join her in the sky
Because I will never grow old, I will never die.

    Another favourite, I really enjoy your poems.

    I liked the way your opening stanza was so perfect then the beginning of your second shatters that by saying it enver lasts, which is fitting for the message and hits quite hard.

    This poem flows realyl well and I like the rhymes as well. I thought that the metaphor of the candle was really well chosen because everybody knows that once a candle is set to burn it'll finish sooner or later. While it burns it offers light though and I think that fit well. The emotions are really heartbreaking too.
