The End

by Jewel Cook   Jun 16, 2012

You don't care, do you?
I really just want to know.
I won't get mad, but I will be somewhat hurt.
But I rather know now.
Just tell me. Do you care or not?

Honestly it seems like you don't,
and I know you're tired of me saying this.
But this is real. It's how I feel.
Don't tell me we're close.
Don't say that I'm over-exaggerating.

People use to ask me how we were so
close.
Now they ask me what happened?
You don't believe me?
I have no reason to lie.
Everything I'm saying is true.

We aren't close, and we are barely friends.
Acting like this isn't true won't help.
Let's just keep it real.
I want to be your friend,
the person you run to when you need help,
but I don't want to be a burden.

So tell me. Are we friends or not?
You read this, and you know it's about you.
You know these are the words that I
could never say to you.
You know this is how I feel.
Don't act like this is new.

Don't tell me I'm crazy.
You know you feel it too.
So if you want this friendship to end,
I don't mind.
Just do what you do, but if you care
like you say you do, tell me.

Tell me how you feel.
Tell me as soon as you read this.
Let me know just one more time that
I do matter.
I swear I won't doubt it again, but I just
need to know.

I know I ask for a lot.
Trust me I get on myself every second
for it.
You said you cared so just tell me one more
time.
Unless this is it.
In that case I need to know now.
If this is the end.
