How can you not remember writing something like this? This is amazing!

It happens when I write while sleep deprived. In this case I even Googled it to make sure it was really mine.
      Thanks for your kind words.

Wow Larry this poem is amazing! I love it! I don't get how you don't remember writing this... it's so well-written!

I particularly loved the first two lines: "I could be anyone I don't know
parts of me are unknowably strange"

^^ for some reason I really connected with this part. I like the idea of being someone you don't know, or not yet... I really liked it.

And wow the last stanza was so intriguing.. I like the unexpected part about how we become the thing we fear the most...

And lastly, the title was perfect! Love it!

    Great job!

    @.@!!!

Even sleep deprived you pack a punch,
I'm a sucker for a growling dark write, that plays with the mind :D!!!

    This poem rocks...

I like the fact that its a little gruesome...
But its your last two lines that intrigued me... Leaving me wanting an encore...

"we come to understand that no frailty
    destroys peace like unbridled power."

^^ I reckon, based on those ingredients alone you could have a dark fatal sequel :)

I think I would write better if I simply get my mind out of the way of my unconscious.

Although I do not remember writing it, the words ring true and I understand this ditty better than many of my more crafted works.

Unbridled power is frail in the sense that it leads to self-destruction. Any self-defeating factor is an ultimate weakness no matter how potent it may be.
