The Reminder

by Sara   May 1, 2013

Every day I am reminded that I am me.
I am reminded,
On my imperfections and differences.
I am reminded,
On how I will struggle to breath if I don't take my inhaler.
I am reminded,
That I will get cramps if I miss my meds.
I am reminded,
That some people think they know how I feel.
But the don't, they don't know how I feel.
They will be reminded,
That I don't just get short of breath but I cough up mucus.
They will be reminded,
That I don't just stay home when I'm sick, but I take a trip to the doctors office and then possibly to the hospital.
They will be reminded,
That I do not look sick, but I am sick. That I fight everyday with a disease.
They will be reminded,
That Cystic Fibrosis is a part of my everyday life.
But I will remind them,
That even though I may have C.F. I am just a normal kid with differences, but thats what we all are, right?
People with differences that make us who we are or who we will be.
Everyday I am reminded that I am me.
