Masks

by XxxWordsOfWisdomxxX   Jul 18, 2013

When the mask falls

What lies beneath

Will come to speak,

From years of wear and years of grief.

True words fall

From bleeding lips,

You take your stand

To get a grip.

Animal instincts

Behind keen eyes,

Cut through words

Cut through lies.

What are we

But a sentence left undone?

Where will we land

When the time has come?

Leave your mark,

Not a bruise.

Memories will last

From the words you choose.
