Pocket of Dreams

by Maple Tree   Apr 8, 2016

My window flashes light-

Illuminating thoughts
which allow me to understand
the darker side of my soul.

Curves taken, corners of life
edged in alleyways of distrust.

I refuse to go back there
for my path is a barefoot journey;

I stop

often of a time
when all I had in my back pocket
was a dream to be better
than I was the day before....

"My window flashes light" it somewhat gives me the chill but in a positive way. This is a sign of hope to me at least. Not to look back on the past I keep saying it but it's really not that simple. No matter where we go there is this small shadow following us. But we truly can learn to let go for most part and no longer let this past control us. Take it one moment at the time, one day at the time. You are strong. Be blessed

This is a great write Andrea

Sad in regards to those darker corners of your mind and how little you felt you once had or you were worth, but inspirational in your present refusal to be pulled down by those wretched thoughts!

    All the best,

Fabulous write as always. We can all relate to this I feel. We should never look back apart from as you say 'to dream to be bette than th person we were the day before.'

    Fluent and smooth.
